Common questions
Since we have been back from China we have really enjoyed seeing friends and family. I thought I would do a blog post today about the most commonly asked questions that we have gotten since we've been home. Maybe even you have asked one of these questions.
Question 1- do you miss China?
the answer to this question is quite simple - yes. We miss many parts of our life in China. It was home for 2 years. I miss our friends. I miss the vegetables and fruits that were easy and accessible in walking distance from our home. And I simply miss a lot of little parts of life.
Question 2 - is it hard to adjust back to life in America.
Answer not really. I think that it was much harder to adjust to a different life in China then to come back to the familiar life in America.
Question 3 - will you ever go back to China?
answer - maybe. The thought of an international flight of 15+ hours does not sound exciting right now. But maybe one day. Hengyang holds a special place in our heart.
Question 4- Will the blog continue?
answer- I think it will continue. I really enjoy posting pictures and stories from our daily life. Although it is no longer adventures in China it is still the adventures of Wes, Avery and Parker Thomas
Do you have a question that I did not answer? Reply with a comment below or send me an email- I'm happy to answer all questions. If I haven't seen you yet - Let's get together real soon

My weekend
This weekend we went to Greensboro. I got to see my adorable niece, my sister, and Solomon. We had such a great time. Ashley and I ate lots of ice cream and took walks on the Greenway while the boys did boy things - like building stuff for the church's VBS. We watched movies and played with the kids. It was a great way to spend a weekend!!

Who says "there's no such thing as a free lunch"
Wes and I saw a new McDonalds opened up today a stones throw from our little apartment ... We decided to check it out for lunch. It was just a few minutes after 12 and a slightly long line. We almost drove away but decided to check it out. Since we were within the first 100 customers after 12 noon - we got free lunch. Thank you McDonalds!!

Driving
Since we have been back in the US Parker has experienced MANY new things - he has loved all of them. One that he really got excited about was driving. I'm sure in his mind he was flying down the highway... he didn't need to know that really we are just sitting still in a parking lot.

Water days
The temps here in NC have been in the 100s. There is no better way to cool off then by jumping in the lake :)

Ocean Park
Since it was off and on rain... we headed straight to the Cable Car
It was the best Cable Car ride I have ever been on.
It took you from one side of the park to the other... the ride probably lasted 10 minutes. Here is the view of the harbour.
Bye Bye Hengyang- the short of our venture home...
We left Hengyang at 6:30 am with everything we own. We looked ridiculous carrying 4 big bags, 2 carry ons, 1 book bag, 1 diaper bag, 1 pack-n-play and 1 baby.
But we made it to Hong Kong
